Six of the deceased individuals were from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram and Bajaur districts.

Around 65 migrants were aboard the boat, with 35 Pakistanis confirmed to have survived while approximately 30 individuals were in the custody of Libyan police.

The accident occurred near the port of Marsa Dela. The Libyan Red Crescent announced on Friday that 10 individuals died when the boat sank off the northwestern port of Zawiya.

It added that following reports from the Zawiya Security Directorate and the Coast Guard, the team recovered 10 bodies, which were subsequently handed over to local authorities after legal proceedings.
