A local landowner has established a crocodile farm, Bhambhor Farmhouse, near Jacobabad, where there are currently over sixteen crocodiles for the past two years.

The local landowner, Daud Khosa, stated that the crocodiles are thriving in a natural environment where they can roam freely.

Khosa believe these crocodiles are expected to play a significant role in promoting the leather industry and tourism in the future. He also plans to export crocodile meat to European markets.

Crocodile ‘farms are working in 85 countries, but not in our country. Why? Crocodile meat will go to Europe. Skin will go to Europe. You will pocket dollars. Country’s economy will grow,“ he told Aaj News.

The landowner highlighted the valuable items, that can be produced by the crocodile skins, focusing on their breed to meet international standards.

Khosa is optimistic about the future of the crocodile farm, hoping that the animals will lay eggs, leading to a rapid increase in their population.

“If this project is successful, it could significantly benefit Pakistan’s economy,” he added.
