The statement coincided with National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq once again offering talks to PTI.

Imran Khan had called for observing a black day on February 8, exactly one year after the national elections were held in 2024. PTI claims the polls were rigged.

There were fears that Imran Khan’s party could march to the federal capital Islamabad on Saturday.

However, sources said Thursday night that the PTI had already decided that it would not march on the capital. Instead, a massive power show would be held in Swabi. Leaders and worker from Punjab are also planning to attend the event.

Party sources said there may be protest in 13 districts in the southern Punjab region and in several cities of Sindh, including Karachi.

Salman Akram Raja spoke to journalists at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq told journalists at the Punjab Assembly in Lahore that the government was still waiting for PTI’s return to the negotiation table.

He said the party would return to talks as soon as it gets approval from Imran Khan.

Sadiq said he was still in contact with PTI leaders on the talks that broke in January.
