Gold prices in Pakistan soared to a new record on Friday, reflecting the increase in global rates. In the local market, the price of gold per tola climbed by Rs1,500, reaching Rs291,800.

The price for 10 grams of gold rose by Rs1,286, with the new rate set at Rs250,171, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

It follows a rise on Thursday, where the price per tola had already increased by Rs1,600, settling at Rs290,300.

Internationally, gold prices also increased on Friday, with the APGJSA reporting a rate of $2,792 per ounce, up by $14 during the day, plus a premium of $20.

Silver prices remained steady at Rs3,300 per tola.
