Kournikova was seen with her mother and a friend, who was pushing her wheelchair while shopping at the Bal Harbour Mall.

In the photos, Kournikova appeared to be cheerful as her five-year-old daughter, Mary, walked beside her. The Grand Slam doubles champion sported a relaxed all-black athleisure outfit, with her hair tied in a top knot and sunglasses resting on her head.

“It was incredibly tough and absolutely terrifying. I tried everything, from therapy to spending hours walking on the beach, to reflect, explore, and experiment with new approaches,” she shared in a 2020 interview.

Kournikova stepped away from professional tennis in 2003 due to a series of injuries, including debilitating back pain that made everyday activities, such as tying her shoes, a challenge.
