Hangu Deputy Commissioner Gohar Zaman Wazir confirmed to the media that the convoy departed from the Torpal checkpost under the supervision of Hangu Regional Police Officer Abbas Majeed Marwat and Kohat Division Commissioner Mutasim Billah Shah.

The previous convoy that arrived in Parachinar on January 8 after being delayed at the Hangu-Kurram border due to an attack on Kurram DC Javedullah Mehsud. The vehicles transported a variety of essential items, including fruits, vegetables, ghee, sugar, chicken, eggs, and other food supplies for the residents of Kurram.

Security personnel were deployed at multiple locations along the route to ensure the convoy’s safety.

Police arrested Tehsil Chairman Agha Muzammil Hussain Fasih after an FIR was filed against him for organizing a sit-in protest that disrupted daily life.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has pledged to take “indiscriminate actionenter link description here” against those involved in violence in the Kurram district, coinciding with the ongoing demolition of illegal bunkers.

Deputy Commissioner Wazir stated that the government is committed to arresting individuals who disrupt peace and their facilitators, ensuring that legal action will be taken against them.

The district administration has reported the confiscation of a significant cache of arms and the destruction of eight illegal bunkers. The DC issued a warning of strict consequences for any violations of the peace agreement in the area.

Security forces imposed a curfew in Lower Kurram and began an operation in Bagan to find and apprehend terrorists involved in a recent attack on an aid convoy that killed multiple officials and truck drivers on January 9.

Kurram’s Parachinar experienced severe price increases for daily commodities as all major roads to the district remained blocked on January 23. The ongoing crisis has led to significant shortages of essential food items, pushing prices to record levels.
