The national grid has deployed additional teams in anticipation of the storm’s impact, international media reported.

Early Friday morning, around 679 homes in Tittensor and Barlaston lost power due to a fault in the high-voltage network, though most have since had their electricity restored. As many as 191 homes remained without power.

In Eccleshall, 35 homes in areas like Shaws Lane, Trinity Road, and Cross Butts were affected due to a suspected blown fuse.

SP Energy Networks said that it was working to assess and repair the storm-related damage, with power expected to be restored to most homes in Eccleshall and in Tittensor and Barlaston by noon.

Eight properties in the Roundwell Street area of Tunstall are still without power, with restoration anticipated by 4pm.

Meteorologists predict that North Staffordshire would experience winds of up to 57mph on Friday as Storm Éowyn disrupts daily life.

A yellow weather warning is in effect for Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle, and the Moorlands, lasting from midnight until 11:59pm tonight.

An amber wind warning has been issued for northern regions of the UK, with red warnings for Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland.
