She added that KU is a “big institution” with “over 45,000 students enrolled.”

In light of a significant influx of new admissions, Dr Nosheen said the administration has issued the notification to assist students in understanding the dress code. “The dress code is outlined in the university’s code of conduct.”

She noted that students’ attire should reflect “dignity and decorum.” The notification serves as guidance on “appropriate clothing,” allowing them the freedom to choose attire that aligns with their personal preferences and cultural backgrounds, it added.

According to a notification, students are prohibited from wearing shorts, sleeveless or tight-fitting clothing, graphic-laden apparel, and casual slippers on campus.

The university called for the importance of wearing “clean and modest” attire that respects the educational setting.

The notification further advised students to avoid clothing that may be considered “provocative, offensive, or distracting.”
