American actress Cameron Diaz has stated that she spent her 10-year break from acting trying to “stay alive just like every other mother” and has returned to screen with an action movie.

“I was not keeping up with any kind of training. I did nothing public. I said no to everything,” Diaz said.

In a YouTube video promoting movie Back in Action, she shared that she started a wine company.

“That was what I was putting most of my focus on if I was doing anything other than just sort of being a mom and living my day-to-day,” Diaz said, “and that was pretty much it. I’m just trying to stay alive, just like every other mother. I’m just trying to keep it going.”

She said: “I thought that if I was going to come back and do a movie, the only person I’d come back and do it with would be this guy [Jamie Foxx].”

Diaz is making her comeback with Netflix’s Back in Action with Jamie Foxx.

The movie is about Emily (Diaz) and Matt (Foxx), two former CIA spies who are dragged back into espionage after their covert identities are revealed.

Cameron Diaz is well-known for her roles in romantic comedies such as The Holiday, My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Other Woman, What Happens in Vegas, and In Her Shoes.
