The actor was stabbed six times while trying to protect his family, including his wife Kareena Kapoor and their children, according to reports. Following the incident, Saif underwent surgery and is out of danger.

According to the chief operating officer of the hospital, among such injuries, two were notably deeper than the others, with one wound dangerously close to his spine.

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali expressed his disbelief over the attack, stating, “It is shocking to hear about the incident with Saif. At this point, I can only hope that his injuries are not severe and that he recovers soon.”

Senior police officer Gedam Dixit informed the Reuters news agency that the actor was no longer in danger.

“He is being treated … and is out of danger,” said Dixit.

Actress Pooja Bhatt voiced her anger over the growing lawlessness in Mumbai, calling for increased police presence in the area.

She noted, “Can this lawlessness please be curbed? We need more police presence in Bandra. The city has never felt so unsafe before.”
