Rainfall hits Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah

The United Arab Emirates experienced varying levels of rainfall, from light to moderate, across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and several western islands on Monday, reports said.

The precipitation was attributed to a combination of a surface low-pressure system from the east and a high-pressure system from the west, alongside an upper-air low-pressure system.

In Abu Dhabi, rain began early in the morning, starting at 2:22am in Al Ghuwaifat and Ras Ghamis. Light rain was noted at 4:30am in Umm Al Sheif, followed by showers along Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street at 6:47am.

The National Center of Meteorology reported continued rainfall at 7:06am in areas including Ghanadha, Al Rahba, and KIZAD, with additional rain observed in Razeen and Sweihan by noon.

Several islands, such as Yasat, Dalma, Arzanah, Makseeb, Das, Qarnain, and Zirku, also received light rainfall.

In Dubai, NCM stations recorded light to moderate rainfall in Jebel Ali at 10:38am, with moderate rain noted on Palm Jumeirah shortly after.

By 11:54am, rainfall extended to various areas including Al Maktoum International Airport and Dubai International Airport, where light rain was reported at 12:39pm.

Sharjah experienced light rainfall as well, with Emirates Road reporting rain at 6:50am.
Looking ahead, the NCM forecasts partly cloudy skies with potential rain in some coastal and northern areas.
