The 38-year-old batsman will continue to participate in T20 leagues globally, including the ongoing Super Smash tournament in New Zealand, where he represents Auckland.

He has also signed up for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft, with Islamabad United having the option to retain him.

Guptill leaves the international stage as one of New Zealand’s great white-ball players, amassing 7,346 runs in 198 One Day Internationals (ODIs), placing him third in the all-time list for the Black Caps.

In T20 internationals, he remains New Zealand’s highest run-scorer, with 3,531 runs at an average of 31.81 and a strike rate of 135.70.

Reflecting on his career, Guptill expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent New Zealand, stating, “I feel incredibly lucky and proud to have played 367 games for my country.”

He thanked his teammates, coaches, and family for their unwavering support throughout his journey.

Guptill made an immediate impact on his ODI debut in January 2009, scoring 122 not out against West Indies.

He is also remembered for his remarkable performances in the 2015 ODI World Cup, where he scored 547 runs and played a crucial role in New Zealand’s journey to the final.
