The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted that frosty winds from Quetta will enter Karachi, causing a significant drop in temperatures starting Saturday.

Citizens can expect to feel the chilly weather during the day, with minimum temperatures recorded at 12.5 degrees Celsius last night.

According to the weather report, nighttime temperatures are forecasted to fall between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius over the next four to five days. Karachi has been experiencing a cold and dry spell, with humidity levels at 53% and winds blowing from the north at 10 kilometres per hour.

The PMD has warned that a new wave of cold is expected to grip the city, with temperatures potentially dropping to a single-digit low of 6 degrees Celsius. This cold spell may last for a week or more.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz also addressed concerns about breaking Karachi’s historical low temperature. He clarified that the city’s record low of 0 degrees Celsius, set in January 1934, is unlikely to be surpassed during this cold wave.
