In a notification, the Education Department said public and private schools would remain closed until January 6.

Earlier this month, the provincial education department declared winter holidays to last until December 31. It said that schools in the plains would remain closed from December 22 to December 31 while schools in the hilly areas would be closed from December 22, 2024, until February 28, 2025.

The extension aims to accommodate the ongoing winter conditions and ensure the safety and well-being of students during this period.
