      <title>Veteran journalist Arshad Zuberi laid to rest in Karachi</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Veteran journalist Arshad Zuberi was laid to rest in Karachi’s Defence area on Monday. The deputy chief executive of &lt;em&gt;Business Recorder Group&lt;/em&gt; &lt;a href="https://english.aaj.tv/news/330395332/veteran-journalist-arshad-zuberi-passes-away-in-karachi"&gt;died on Sunday after a prolonged illness&lt;/a&gt;. He was 72.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The funeral prayer took place at Noor-e-Salam Mosque in Zamzama.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, former president Arif Alvi, former senator Javed Jabbar, former federal minister Dr Asim Hussain, former provincial assembly member Irfanullah Marwat, former Supreme Court Bar Association president Abid Zuberi, Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi President Syed Ahmed Shah, cable association leader Khalid Arai, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi spokesperson Zahid Askar, and people from business, political, and social figures attended the funeral prayer.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Shah, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Javed Bilwani, and Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, expressed their deep sorrow and condolences over Zuberi’s passing.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;They noted that the late journalist was a “prominent figure” at &lt;em&gt;Business Recorder&lt;/em&gt; and his “exceptional journalistic contributions and experience” would always be remembered.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was grieved over the death of Zuberi. In a statement, the prime minister prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the departed soul in Jannah.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He extended his condolences to the family members of the late journalist.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“The services of late Arshad Zuberi in the field of print and electronic media in Pakistan will always be remembered,” PM Shehbaz said.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also expressed sorrow over the demise of Zuberi.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In her message, she offered sincere condolences and extended her sympathies to the bereaved family.&lt;/p&gt;
