The victims, Polish national Kowalczyk Jakub Tomasz and French citizen Scantamburlo Marie Elisabeth, were targeted by muggers near the Sajawal bypass.

According to police reports, the couple was stripped of their mobile phones during the robbery.

The local senior superintendent of police (SSP) confirmed that a first-information report (FIR) has been filed on behalf of the state, and an investigation is underway.

The couple was reportedly visiting historical sites, including the Makli graveyard, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its numerous tombs and graves.

They had spent the night at the graveyard before being robbed.

In response to the incident, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has called for a prompt report from the Sujawal SSP and instructed police to employ modern techniques in their investigation.
