This ongoing crisis has led to protests, with citizens demonstrating for the sixth consecutive day, demanding the reopening of access routes.

According to Geo News, the blockade has severely limited residents’ access to essential food and medical supplies.

The Chairman of Upper Kurram Tehsil, Agha Muzamil, stated, “Residents are struggling to obtain basic necessities like healthcare and food because of the road closures. More than 100 children have died due to inadequate medical care.”

In response to the situation, Kurram’s Deputy Commissioner announced that a Grand Jirga has been convened in the district to initiate peace talks aimed at resolving the long-standing tribal conflict. The government hoped these discussions would restore stability and allow for the reopening of blocked roads.

Demonstrations in solidarity with Parachinar residents have also occurred outside Karachi’s Numaish Chowrangi and the Lahore Press Club, organized by Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s Adviser on Information, Barrister Saif, confirmed the approval of a special police force to secure the Parachinar Road. He emphasized the government’s commitment to achieving a sustainable resolution to the century-old tribal dispute that has caused significant unrest in the region.
