Winter has arrived in full force, from Karachi to Chitral. The upper areas of Gilgit-Baltistan are experiencing extremely cold conditions. In Ghizer, temperatures of -10°C have frozen waterfalls, lakes, and water lines. The famous Khalti Lake in Ghizer has also frozen over, attracting numerous tourists and children.

The coldest temperature was recorded in Skardu (-11°C) and Gupis (-9°C). Light snowfall in the mountains has enhanced the beauty of the Kaghan Valley, drawing tourists to Shogran to witness the snow.

In Swat, snowfall in the upper areas of Malam Jabba and Kalam has pushed temperatures below freezing. Balochistan is also experiencing extreme cold, with Quetta recording -5°C and Kalat -6°C. This has resulted in the freezing of ponds and water accumulated on roads.

Even Karachi has experienced a significant drop in temperature, with nighttime lows reaching 9°C and morning temperatures at 11°C.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts that the cold weather will persist in most areas of the country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There is a possibility of rain in Punjab starting tomorrow.
