The 50-over tournament would be held in a hybrid model after India refused to visit Pakistan over their government’s refusal.

The tournament’s opening match is set to be held on February 19 between Pakistan and New Zealand. The highly anticipated Pakistan-India clash would take place on February 23 at Dubai stadium.

After this, the national team would play its third match against Bangladesh on February 27. The first semi-final is scheduled for March 3, with the second semi-final on March 4.

As per the possible schedule, the mega event’s final is expected to be held on March 9, with a reserve day included as well.

Host nation Pakistan and the Board of Control for Cricket in India, along with all other stakeholders, have reached an agreement regarding the neutral venue for the event.

The ICC is expected to announce the event’s schedule soon.

Reports suggest that there is a strong likelihood of all stakeholders agreeing on Dubai as the neutral venue, with a final decision expected to be made shortly.

Earlier this week, the International Cricket Council said India will play Champions Trophy matches on neutral ground after refusing to visit tournament host and arch-rival Pakistan. Under the agreement, Pakistan will also play in upcoming ICC tournaments hosted by India in other countries.

The arch-rivals only meet in ICC multi-national events like ODI and T20 World Cups, with the last bilateral series held when Pakistan toured India in 2012-13.

India last toured Pakistan to feature in the 2008 Asia Cup and have not played a bilateral series across the border for 18 years.
