The Sindh government has officially abolished the employment quota for the children of deceased employees.

This decision was taken by the Sindh Cabinet following a directive from the Supreme Court.
A notification has been issued stating that no further appointments will be made under the death quota in the province.

This move mirrors a similar decision made earlier this year by the Punjab government, which also revoked Rule 17-A pertaining to government jobs for the children of public servants who passed away during their service.

Under the previous provisions, a son, daughter, or widow of a deceased government employee was eligible for a government position. The Punjab government issued its formal notification regarding this policy change in July.
