The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) announced that water flow from the Dhabeji Pumping Station resumed following the completion of the repairs.

The damage occurred on November 29 during construction related to the Red Line project, leading to a significant loss of thousands of gallons of water.

As a result, several water pumps at the Dhabeji Station were shut down, causing water shortages in various areas of the city, including Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Mosmiyat, Safoora, and several blocks of Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

Repair work commenced on December 3, with a team of over 300 laborers working in three shifts under the supervision of Chief Engineer WTM Zafar Palijo.

Heavy machinery was utilized to expedite the process, which faced delays due to extensive de-silting and significant damage caused by drilling machines that created large holes in the pipeline.

The KW&SC had previously urged residents in affected areas to conserve water during the repair period, which was projected to result in a daily loss of 150 million gallons of water.

The organization confirmed that the repair work is now complete, and water supply has resumed.
