In an interview with E! News, Culkin revealed that Dakota, whom he shares with fiancée Brenda Song, has not only watched the movie but is convinced that he has taken on Kevin’s adventures.

The Richie Rich actor noted that his son thinks he has gone down the stairs on a sled, has blonde hair, and “fought the burglars” just like McCallister did in the film.

In a lighthearted moment, Culkin playfully reprimanded his son, jokingly calling him “a lying liar who lies” and reminding him, “That was me!”

Culkin, who starred in Home Alone at the age of seven, has reminisced about the film’s enduring legacy. Released in 1990, the movie has become a holiday classic and led to several sequels.

The story follows a young boy, McCallister, who is accidentally left home alone by his parents while they go on vacation. Initially, he enjoys his freedom, but soon he must get creative to defend his home from burglars.

The film features a notable cast, including Joe Pesci, Catherine O’Hara, Daniel Stern, and John Heard.

Culkin acknowledged that Home Alone has become synonymous with Christmas, a connection he initially resisted but is starting to embrace. “It’s very rare to be part of something that symbolises an important day,” he said, “it’s more fun to embrace it than to fight it.”
