In light of these expenses, the Punjab Police officials have requested Rs500 million from the government to cover the costs associated with managing the protests.

To maintain order during these demonstrations, 27,000 police personnel were deployed across various locations in Punjab, including Lahore, with an additional 2,000 officers sent to Islamabad.

The protests led to injuries for 131 police officers and the death of one officer. Authorities reported that 20 police officers were taken hostage by violent demonstrators but were subsequently rescued.

Nearly Rs1 billion were spent on fuel, food, and accommodation for the deployed forces.

Officials also revealed that the police headquarters supplied 60,000 tear gas shells to districts for use during the protests, with an emergency procurement of additional shells costing Rs400 million made prior to the events.

Moreover, police reported extensive damage as protesters set fire to and vandalized numerous police vehicles, resulting in significant losses, including the destruction of anti-riot kits, helmets, and the theft of weapons.
