An earthquake shook Lahore and surrounding areas on Thursday.

The earthquake registered a 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad.

Tremors were felt as far away as Jhelumm, Wazirabad, Nankana Sahab and Sarai Alamgir.

The earthquake’s epicentre was located at Kharian with a depth of 15km.

Although the earthquake spread fear in the residents of the affected areas, no loss of life or property has been reported.
