Initial reports indicated Urooj committed suicide by hanging herself in her room, and the police have since taken her body into custody for investigation.

In a video message, the girl’s mother accused a local boy of blackmailing her daughter, which led Urooj to take this drastic step.

The mother stated that around 11 pm last night, the boy attempted to blackmail Urooj by uploading her photo online, causing her deep distress.

The police confirmed that the body has been transferred to the Taluka Hospital Tando Adam for post-mortem and legal proceedings. The mother specifically accused a neighborhood resident, Imran Khoso, of blackmailing her daughter.

She further revealed that Imran told her younger daughter, Kainat, that he had uploaded Urooj’s picture on social media, which contributed to Arooj’s despair.
