British newspaper claims 17 PTI workers killed in operation

The number of deaths among Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers during recent protests in Islamabad remains highly contested, with discrepancies even within the PTI itself.

PTI leader Lateef Khosa claimed the highest number of deaths, stating that 278 party workers were killed. Another PTI leader, Salman Akram Raja, reported a significantly lower figure of 20 deaths.

British newspaper, The Guardian, reported 17 deaths in a Wednesday night article, further alleging that the government had seized hospital records.

A pro-PTI YouTuber claimed 105 deaths, while some Islamabad-based journalists reported eight deaths, including four security personnel.

Prominent human rights activist and Aaj News anchorperson, Munizeh Jahangir, verified two deaths in hospitals, providing the names of the deceased protesters.

    <iframe

The wide range of reported figures highlights the significant uncertainty surrounding the actual number of casualties.
