Islamabad, Rawalpindi could run out of petrol and diesel soon, dealers warn

Oil dealers warned on Monday that several petrol pumps in Rawalpindi and Islamabad are in danger of running ‘dry’ soon due to road closures in view of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf protest.

The dealers warned that the existing stocks will be depleted if the supplies do not resume on Monday.

The Petroleum Division has also taken notice of the impending shortage of fuel in the twin cities.

In a circular issued on Monday, the division instructed that the dealers should ensure supplies are maintained without interruption.

Several major roads have been sealed in the capital as the PTI convoy slowly draws towards the capital. Large contingents of security forces have also been deployed across the city and a holiday was declared in the city’s schools on Monday.
