Khan is currently in judicial remand and his release is contingent upon the outcome of these applications, Niazi clarified during an appearance on Aaj News’ program “Spotlight”.

Regarding calls for protests, Niazi requested verification of a statement attributed to Barrister Gohar.

Prominent analyst and columnist Sohail Warraich, also participating in the program, commented on the current political and economic climate. He noted that while the establishment has achieved some degree of economic stability, significant political stability remains elusive. Warraich argued that lasting economic stability is impossible without political stability.

Warraich further analyzed the establishment’s apparent desire for the PTI to accept the current system and participate in negotiations regarding free and fair elections. He suggested that the establishment’s willingness to offer relief to Imran Khan—potentially through the formation of a commission to investigate alleged electoral irregularities or the ending of Khan’s detention—depends on his cooperation and silence.

However, Warraich pointed out the dilemma faced by Imran Khan: compromising with the establishment risks significant damage to his popularity, while refusing to compromise could further prolong his legal battles.
