Khan will only talk to establishment, but on ‘three conditions,’ says Hassan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Raoof Hassan has stressed the need for dialogue between the establishment and PTI, asserting that discussions should have started on Tuesday.

Khan has urged his followers to march towards Islamabad on November 24 for the “restoration” of democracy and the judiciary.

Ruling coalition leaders have slammed the PTI for causing unrest in the country with such protests.

In reaction, the PTI founder set four demands for ending the protest. They are related to the recent steps taken by the government like the 26th Constitutional Amendment. According to former information minister Fawad Chaudhry, Khan’s demands “are not wrong.”

While appearing on the Aaj News programme News Insight with Amir Zia, he reiterated that while incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan was open to talks with the establishment, “they must adhere to three specific conditions.”

Hassan pointed out that whenever PTI calls for a protest, the entire country comes to a “standstill,” with roads blocked and mass arrests taking place.

He questioned the government’s apparent fear as shipping containers brought in the federal capital to block roads. Hassan criticised the government, stating that the constitutional amendments made are “not a point of pride for them, but rather a permanent stain on their reputation that they will never be able to erase.”

In response to a question, the PTI leader stated that the party’s strategy for the upcoming protest would differ “significantly” from past approaches.

He criticised the coalition government, claiming that their allies are unable to speak with one voice and are instead competing with each other to become the next prime minister based on a “fake mandate.”
