A new twist has emerged in the case of two young siblings who died after allegedly consuming poisoned milk in Kamonke, Gujranwala District. Police have arrested the children’s mother, following the earlier arrest of their father.

In July, three-year-old Muhammad Hanin and six-month-old Anshara, children of Rana Usman, died in the Muslim Gunj area of Kamonki City Police Station. They were subsequently buried.

Their mother, Palwasha, initially filed a case against her husband, Usman, a teacher, alleging that he, along with family members, had poisoned the children to pave the way for a second marriage. She petitioned Magistrate Jawaria Munir for the children’s exhumation.

Following the magistrate’s order, samples were taken from the children’s bodies. While Usman was arrested, the police investigation yielded no conclusive results after two months.
