Government hospitals are seeing an increase in patients as the situatio deteriorates.

This morning, Lahore was again ranked as one of the world’s most polluted cities, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching a staggering 995.

Specific areas within the city reported alarming AQI figures, including Defense Phase 8 at 1696, Davis Road at 1464, and Gulberg at 1306. Other areas, such as Defense Phase 5 and Lahore Cantt, registered AQIs of 1212 and 1232, respectively.

Despite government efforts to combat the crisis, many citizens appear indifferent to the health risks associated with the smog. Medical experts are warning of a rise in illnesses affecting the eyes, nose, ears, and throat due to the hazardous air quality.

Health professionals are urging residents to limit outdoor activities and to wear masks when outside to protect themselves from the harmful effects of the smog.
