According to police sources, Nargis’s brother, Khuram Bhatti, contacted the police helpline. Officers from Defence C police station responded to the call and went to the actress’s home.

Police sources say that Bhatti informed them that his sister’s husband, Inspector Majid Bashir, had been assaulting her regularly, and that a recent incident left her in a distressed state.

Media reports indicate that Nargis herself has not yet filed a formal complaint with the police. Police have stated that action will only be taken against her husband upon receipt of a formal complaint.

It is worth noting that Nargis married Inspector Majid Bashir several years ago, after which she left the entertainment industry. She has been running a beauty salon for the past few years.
