The death toll from a remote-controlled bomb blast near a girls’ high school in Mastung’s Civil Hospital Chowk has risen to seven. Police report that the victims include children, a police officer, and passersby, with the children’s ages ranging from five to ten years old.

The explosion, which police say was caused by explosives planted on a motorcycle and detonated remotely, also injured over 22 people, many of whom are school children.

A police mobile and a rickshaw were also damaged in the blast. The injured are being treated at the Civil Hospital.

Police are currently working to determine the nature of the explosive device and the circumstances surrounding the attack. The injured have been transported to the Civil Hospital for treatment.

Further details are expected to be released as the investigation unfolds.
