The Islamabad police registered the case after Mengal and several associates allegedly attempted to enter the Senate premises without authorization, resulting in a scuffle with security personnel.

The incident occurred just days before a vote on the 26th Amendment, during which Mengal was reportedly expelled from the Senate gallery. The police have also arrested BNP leader Akhtar Hussain Langove in connection with this case.

The First Information Report (FIR) includes various charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Pakistan Penal Code. It details that Mengal and several others forcefully tried to enter the Senate galleries, leading to a confrontation with security officials.

Prior to the FIR, the police conducted a raid at Mengal’s residence in the Parliament Lodges, claiming it was part of a security audit related to an ongoing international summit in Islamabad.
