Students in Rawalpindi have staged protest outside various campuses in response to an alleged sexual assault of a female student at a private college in Lahore.

Demonstrators vandalized the Peshawar Road Campus by breaking windows and set fire to the Quaid Campus in Islamabad.

Rawalpindi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operation Hafiz Kamran Asghar said they did not want to arrest students, however, if anyone tried to take the law into their hands under the guise of protests, legal action would be taken against them.

Last week, social media reports regarding the alleged rape of a student at a private college gained widespread attention, leading to the arrest of a security guard believed to be involved in the incident.

In response to the allegations, students organized protests outside various colleges in Lahore over the past few days. On Monday, clashes between students, college security, and police resulted in at least 28 injuries.
