Speaking to reporters at the Zardari House in Islamabad, Bhutto emphasized the PPP’s efforts to achieve consensus among all political parties, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Bilawal acknowledged the government’s option to proceed with a vote based on conscience, but reiterated the PPP’s commitment to seeking a broader agreement.

He added that the party would review the draft amendment proposed by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) once it is received. He hinted at the seriousness of recent discussions, referencing a high-level meeting at the President’s House involving five key figures.

Bilawal expressed concern over a court order issued on a non-working day, suggesting a lack of transparency. He reiterated the PPP’s demand for judicial reforms and equal rights for provinces.

While Maulana Fazlur Rehman had initially agreed to constitutional and judicial reforms, the PPP and JUI-F rejected the government’s proposed amendments to Articles 8 and 51 of the constitution, he claimed.

Bilawal sharply criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, accusing him and his party of a lack of seriousness on the matter. He suggested that if Khan had made different political decisions since April 2022, he might be Prime Minister today.

He further alleged that Khan continues to prioritize engagement with the establishment over politicians, questioning his political future.
