This development comes after Islamabad experienced a significant increase in dengue-positive cases, soaring from 111 to 1,404 between September 9 and October 2.

The District Health Officer (DHO) Islamabad, Dr. Zaeem Zia, noted that most breeding grounds for dengue larvae are found in residential areas, under-construction buildings, and public spaces.

To address the situation, DHO teams have launched intensive efforts, including Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) and raising awareness about dengue prevention.

Here are some preventive measures against dengue:

• Wear long sleeves and apply mosquito repellents to prevent bites.
• Limit outdoor activities after sunset and avoid areas with stagnant water, tall grass, and garbage piles.
• Consult a healthcare professional rather than self-medicating.
