According to the notification, Section 144 prohibited all forms of political gatherings, sit-ins, rallies, protests, and demonstrations in the provincial capital from Thursday, October 3, to Tuesday, October 8.

The notification stated that the enforcement of Section 144 was aimed at maintaining peace and order and protecting human lives and property. The government believed that public gatherings could be soft targets for terrorists due to security threats.

The provincial Home Department indicated that the decision to impose Section 144 had been made based on recommendations from the district administration, and large-scale public awareness efforts about the enforcement had been instructed.

It was determined yesterday that Section 144 will be enforced in Mianwali, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, and Chiniot. In Mianwali, this measure will be in effect from October 1 to October 7, while in the other five districts, it will be enforced for two days over five days.

The restrictions were in effect from October 1 to October 7. Two companies of Rangers were stationed in Mianwali from October 1 to October 3 to ensure public safety in Mianwali.
