It was decided during a meeting of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Board presided over by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

The expressway will feature a 12.5-kilometer elevated section, with the remainder of the road constructed below ground level. It will link to the Malir Expressway at Jam Sadiq Bridge.

Sindh CM Murad instructed the Sindh local government department to finalise the project in collaboration with the PPP unit, emphasising that the road would be developed under the PPP model utilising government resources.

During the same session, the PPP Board approved several initiatives, including the establishment of the NDD Technology Park, for which the Sindh government has earmarked Rs1.7 billion.

The board endorsed an extensive reforestation project that aims to cover over 100,000 hectares across Sindh. Plans are in place to seek support from the Asian Development Bank for part of the initiative.
