According to the authorities, the decision to have Saturday and Sunday as the weekly two-day holidays was made to reduce the workload on teachers.

The School Education Department has also issued new school timings.

As per the new timings, single-shift schools will have their schedule from 8am to 1:30pm, Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, school timings will be from 8am to 12pm.

The rationale behind the new weekly two-day holiday system and revised school timings is to ease the burden on teachers and provide them with more rest and preparation time.
