The minister met with a delegation led by the Chairman of the Pakistan Poultry Association, Muhammad Nusrat, which included representatives from various poultry industry groups. The meeting focused on reviewing the chicken supply chain and pricing.

During the meeting, different options for setting broiler chicken prices were discussed. The Livestock Secretary noted that chicken prices had recently surged by Rs70 per kg, despite no apparent supply and demand issues.

The Poultry Association Chairman shared business-related problems and concerns with the Minister. The minister promised to address these concerns and said the government will set chicken prices with input from all stakeholders, aiming for a 15-20% profit margin on production costs to help lower current high prices.

The Livestock Secretary will develop a pricing plan to be sent to the Chief Minister for approval. The Poultry Association agreed to cooperate with the government to reduce chicken prices.
