Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, while addressing the media in Islamabad, stated that the government is committed to addressing the issue of missing persons, which has plagued the country for years.

He attributed the problem to the aftermath of the Afghan war and the subsequent rise of terrorism.

Tarar highlighted that Pakistan was used as a pawn by global powers in the past, leading to the country’s current predicament.

He emphasized that the government has been actively working to recover missing persons and has formed special committees to address the issue, including during the previous Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government and the current caretaker government.

He acknowledged the immense suffering faced by the families of missing persons and stated that a comprehensive report was compiled after consultations with intelligence agencies and state institutions. The report, which was approved by the cabinet, forms the basis for the government’s assistance to affected families.
