      <title>Govt announces massive reduction in petrol prices</title>

&lt;p&gt;In a notification issued by the government, the price of diesel was slashed by Rs10.86. The new price of diesel will be set at Rs272.77.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, the price of petrol was cut by Rs6.17. The price of petrol is now set at Rs269.43.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The price of light diesel was reduced by Rs5.72 while the price of kerosene was reduced by Rs6.32. The new prices are Rs160.53 and Rs177.39 respectively.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The reduction in fuel prices is expected to provide significant relief to the public, especially after the recent sharp increases in prices over the past two fortnights.&lt;/p&gt;
