At a press conference in Islamabad on Monday, Gohar said: “We strongly condemn the arrest of our party spokesman. We do not know the whereabouts of 10 of our workers who went missing after the raids on our offices.”

The PTI chairman also expressed concern about the alleged theft of data related to the party’s internal elections during the raids.

He went on to add that the party has not been briefed about the counterterrorism operation despite their repeated requests. “We have been asking for a briefing on the operation, but we have not been provided with one to date.”

Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub, who accompanied the party chairman at the presser, said: “The raid was the excuse. The target was the affidavits.”

He alleged that the government and agencies could not “digest” the Supreme Court’s verdict in the reserved seats case.

While railing against the military spokesperson’s press conference, he said it was an “indictment” against the PML-N government and its ineptitude.

“The PML-N’s failure pushed the [DG] ISPR to come forward and do this press conference.”
