Vawda says govt playing on ‘both sides of the wicket’

Senator Faisal Vawda has claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is deeply divided, with multiple factions and a growing “forward bloc” within the party. Vawda also expressed concerns about the authenticity of some signatures on the 37 affidavits submitted by PTI members, alleging that 6 or 7 signatures are questionable.

Speaking ‘Rubaroo’ with Shaukat Piracha on Aaj News, Vawda stated that the current government has a golden opportunity to prove its competence, but cautioned that playing “both sides of the wicket” could lead to their downfall.

However, Vawda also claimed that the government is already undertaking efforts to make sure it has two-thirds majority in the parliament.

He also criticized the PTI’s decision to write to the IMF, claiming it will be detrimental to the country.

Vawda further predicted that the political climate will heat up in September and October, emphasizing that the government’s performance will be crucial during this period.

He also expressed concern about the lack of adherence to the constitution and rule of law in Pakistan, accusing the PTI of once again “spreading poison.”

Vawda criticized the current leadership of the PTI, claiming that they are driven by personal agendas and have sidelined honest individuals while retaining those involved in corruption.

He hinted that PTI could be in for even tougher times ahead, adding that a ‘spiked bulldozer’ was waiting to begin its work soon.
