A sit-in protest by families of missing persons in Quetta has been suspended for 15 days following successful talks with a government delegation. The agreement was reached after negotiations between Yasmin Abdullah, sister of missing activist Zaher Baloch, and the government delegation at the Abdul Sattar Edhi Chowk, also known as Hockey Chowk.

The agreement includes the registration of Zaher Baloch’s disappearance case against unidentified individuals with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). All protesters arrested on July 11th will be released, and their cases will be dropped.

Those involved in vandalism on July 13th, who are not related to the families of missing persons, will be prosecuted. The belongings of the Balochistan United Front (BUF) protesters will be returned.

A joint committee will be formed to investigate Zaher Baloch’s disappearance and submit a report within 15 days.

During these 15 days, no protests will be held. Any future protests or sit-ins will be conducted in accordance with legal requirements.
