The judge, Malik Ejaz Asif, had heard the request filed by the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Imran Khan, to have a telephonic meeting with his children.

In response, the jail administration submitted to the court that as per the jail manual, there is no provision for allowing any accused to have a WhatsApp conversation with their relatives.

The court had previously ordered that the former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, be allowed to speak to his children twice a month.

However, after the jail administration’s response, the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court has now rejected the request for Imran Khan to speak to his children once a week via WhatsApp.
