In a move to “ensure public safety,” the Islamabad administration has cancelled the no-objection certificate (NOC) for the PTI rally scheduled to be held in the federal capital on Saturday (tomorrow).

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by the chief commissioner who discussed concerns over public security and the observance of Muharram.

In a statement, the Islamabad administration said the safety and security of the public was “their top priority.”

On Thursday, the district administration granted permission to PTI to hold a rally on July 6 in Turnol, Islamabad.

According to the party’s social media platforms, the PTI leadership was preparing for the rally and calling upon its supporters to turn up in big numbers for the public gathering.
