When the Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified Imran Khan in the Toshakhana reference in 2022, PTI workers took to the streets in various parts of the country and blocked roads by burning tires at multiple locations.

However, the situation escalated when clashes broke out between the police and PTI workers with also usage of tear gas at the border between Punjab and the federation Faizabad Interchange.

Judicial Magistrate Yaser Mahmood had filed cases against Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Sheikh Rasheed, Shehryar Afridi, Faisal Javed, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Ali Nawaz Awan, and Asad Qaiser at the Aabpara Police Station.

Advocate Sardar Masroof Khan and Ansar Kiani represented Khan, Rasheed, and the others in the court proceedings.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Terrorism Court has sought a report from the Adiala Jail superintendent regarding the production of Imran Khan in the judicial complex vandalism cases at the Judicial Complex.
