Heavy pours in several areas of Punjab , low-lying areas under water

Heavy rainfall occurred early on Monday morning in various cities across Punjab, including Lahore due to the rainfall. Due to the heavy downpour, low-lying areas in these cities became submerged underwater.

In various Punjab cities, heavy rainfall was accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.

The accumulation of water has caused streets and roads to resemble rivers, and several feeders have also tripped due to the rainfall.

In Lahore, heavy rainfall occurred in various locations such as Shimla Hill, Anarkali Bazaar, Gawalmandi, Cordoba Chowk, Davis Road, Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Gulberg, Ichhra, Qainchi, Chungi Amar Sidhu, Gajju Matah, Islampura, Band Road, Shalimar Garden, Model town, Garden Town, and other areas. After the heavy rainfall, low-lying areas in these locations were submerged in water.

Several other cities of Punjab including Muridke, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Safdarabad, Jaranwala, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Kamoke, Narowal, Okara, Jhang, Bahawalpur, Renala Khurd, Kot Addu, Bhawalnagar, Kabirwala, Hafizabad, Minchinabad, Shorkot, and Pakpattan experienced varying intensities of rainfall in the morning, ranging from light to heavy.

The rainfall in various cities across Punjab has helped reduce the intensity of the heat, making the weather more pleasant.

The cooler weather has brought smiles to the faces of the residents.

However, in some areas, the rainfall has disrupted the electricity transmission system, causing difficulties for the citizens.

The first spell of heavy rainfall in Lahore recorded the highest precipitation of 85 millimeters in Laxmi Chowk, 48 millimeters in Quratba Chowk, 44 millimeters in Gulberg, 42 millimeters recorded in Jail Road and Nishtar Town, 40 millimeters in Paani Wala Talab, 37 millimeters in Mugalpura, 35 millimeters in Samanabad, 34 millimeters in Chowk Yateem Khana, and 33 millimeters in Iqbal Town.

In n Balochistan, heavy downpours took place in areas such as Khuzdar, Awaran, Kech, Dera Bugti, Sibi, Musakhel, Barkhan, Zhob, Sherani, and surrounding regions.

In Musakhel, a vehicle was swept away into a flooded river, and the occupants had to be rescued to safety.

Due to a landslide on the road to Dera Ismail Khan, the national highway had to be temporarily closed, but has since been restored.

The heavy rain and flooding in Awaran led to some connecting roads being temporarily closed, which have now been reopened. Similarly, intense rainfall in Surab caused the rivers and streams to overflow.
